Praise God for the Promises

It's a common scenario.

We believe we have a promise from God that has yet to be fulfilled.

While we're waiting we become impatient.

We complain.

We whine and groan about what is taking so long.

We pout and become angry. After all, why make a promise if you're going to take forever to make it come true?

Often times we give up.

Sometimes it's because it simply hurts too bad to hope---other times we're just being spoiled, but we walk away. We put it to bed in our minds and say "I guess I didn't hear God.....maybe it was just wishful thinking....perhaps He changed His mind?"

If we aren't careful we can get caught in the endless roller coaster of standing in faith and falling into disbelief.

I've seen it over and over again.

Which is why Psalm 56:4 & 10 stuck out to me during my devotions one day.

But when I am afraid,

I will put my trust in you.

I praise God for what he has promised.

I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?

What can mere mortals do to me?

Psalm 56:3-4

I praise God for what he has promised;

yes, I praise the Lord for what he has promised.

Psalm 56:10

Did you see it?

A new perspective to waiting on Gods promises---praise God for the promises.

Don't give into fear

Don't fall prey to panic, anger, or impatience; instead praise God for the promise even before you receive the provision.

It's a new concept. Yet a concept that will radically change us if we adopt it.

What are you waiting for today??

What promise in God’s Word are you holding on to for dear life?

Resist the urge to follow your feelings and instead praise God for His promises knowing that in His way and in His time He will provide.
