How to be the Most Unattractive Version of Yourself Possible…There's Nothing Pretty About Liars

So last week we started offering tips on how to be the most unattractive version of yourself ever. (Ironically, but practically, of course.)

If you remember, last week I said the #1 way to drive people completely away from you is to always be the saddest, moodiest version of yourself possible---play the victim---make other people feel guilty for enjoying their lives.

This week, I’m offering another truth bomb. Here it is: If you want to be the most unattractive version of you that you can possibly be, acquire a reputation for being a liar.

That’s right---never tell the truth.

Make up stories---about yourself and other people.

Live a secret life. Be one person here and another person there. Never let anyone know who you really are.

Say you’ll do things and then don’t keep your word.

Make people believe things that are completely false.

Exaggerate, blow things out of proportion, and just flat out make things up.

If you follow these steps, I can guarantee that in time, people will be completely repulsed by you.

Of course, there is another side to this coin---perhaps you prefer to be the most attractive version of yourself possible.

In that case, here’s your tip: always tell the truth. Be completely honest. Avoid all forms of deception, lying, and dishonestly.

Let your word be your sacred bond. Be the same person with everyone, everywhere. Develop the reputation of someone who cannot tell a lie.

Follow the Biblical command to:

“Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.” Ephesians 4:25 (NIV)

The Message reads this way:

“What this adds up to, then, is this: no more lies, no more pretense. Tell your neighbor the truth. In Christ’s body we’re all connected to each other, after all. When you lie to others, you end up lying to yourself.”

Or as Colossians 3:9 says:

“Don’t lie to one another. You’re done with that old life. It’s like a filthy set of ill-fitting clothes you’ve stripped off and put in the fire. Now you’re dressed in a new wardrobe.”

I know, I know, there are some of you out there who may be thinking, “I don’t think people will like me if I don’t put on a facade.”

Guess what? If you’re being a fake, a phony, or a hypocrite, they don’t really like you now. They don’t know you!!! You haven’t given them the chance!

While they may like who they think you are now, when they find out the truth (and everyone is eventually found out) they will feel betrayed by the deception and really not like you. (Trust me, the old “Who’s the Boss” plot that you can lie about who you are and when they find out they’ll say, “But we like you already” is a big fat lie. (Yes, I speak old t.v.))

People run from liars. They are drawn to those who are open, honest, and trustworthy.

So don’t make lying an option. Give people a chance to know and love you. Some will and some won’t, but that’s ok. (I mean, do YOU like everyone???)

In the end, you don’t need everyone to like you. You simply need a few true blue friends who will love you for who you are---the real you. The key to this is honesty, truthfulness, and avoiding all forms of lying.

Unless you want to be the most unattractive version of yourself possible----than lie, lie, lie.
